We entered a contest not knowing we would be competing against professional interior designers and architects and we won. Not only did we receive recognition but we got to meet one of our most memorable and influential people in the industry…Editor of Inns Magazine Mary Hughes.
A three page feature story was written by Editor Mary Hughes of Inns Magazine about our journey from leaving our lives in New York and trading them for a life of Innkeeping and the barn restoration. Hence the title, The Historic Jacob Hill Inn “Making Barn Living Vogue”
In an article for Inns Magazine Inn Love “Innkeeping Partnerships that work” by Keith Kehlbeck. We pointed out that “Innkeeping is not for everyone…luckily we found out early that we could work together without killing each other”
In an article for Inns Magazine by Meghan Baker “Friends Know Best”, talks about how people in our life encouraged us along the way. Luckily they gave us good advice and we listened.
The article also includes a recipe for a favorite served at the Inn Stuffed French Toast.
In the Tenth Anniversary Issue of the Inns Magazine, Mary Hughes wrote about her “Ten Most Memorable Bedrooms”. One for each year that her magazine was published and you know that being in the business of writing a magazine about lodging, she has stayed in a lot of places. She chose the “Boston Suite” in our Historic Jacob Hill Inn for 2004, the year she stayed with us.
